The Biggest Events Coming Soon To Santa Fe

This year in Santa Fé there is so much going on in the month of June alone which will make it an extra-special place to visit this summer for the whole family. Here are our highlights of what to do:
Firstly, this year will see the 6th annual Spring Festival, which for the first time ever will join up with the annual Fiber Arts Fair, which will be the key event and perfect for history buffs. The festival will see several people dressed up as Spanish colonial villagers from over 300 years ago, who will give historical demonstrations of activities such as sheep-shearing, weaving and spinning, in an attempt to bring its history alive and make it more accessible. The festival will happen over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of June, and tourists can expect that the streets will be filled cultural pride and enthusiasm. Visitors will also be treated to educational talks on fiber, and for the kids, there is the opportunity to produce their own colorful and exciting fiber arts and crafts.
Another interesting event happening in June is the annual Herb & Lavender fair in El Rancho de las Golondrinas, one of the most infamous living history museums in south-west America. It is an opportunity for tourists and citizens alike to speak with local vendors and learn more about the agriculture of Santa Fé. As the title of the event suggests, the vendors specialise in selling distinct types of herbs and lavender. From the museum itself, visitors can organise to be taken on tours of herb gardens and learn exactly how distinct types are grown and cared for.
June will also see the arrival of the 3rd annual Fantase Fest which aims to continue attracting young and international visitors to the city. The downtown area of the city will become a wonderland of art, music and lights, allowing the public to discover new secrets about the Santa Fé identity. It brings artists out of the museum to interact with the public in new and creative ways. In fact, last year saw $20,000 spent on artists, musicians and creative technicians alone. This year visitors can expect more of the same. The event will take place on the 20th June in Devargas Park. To get a feel for the event, check out the highlights of last year by clicking here.
